What a beautiful looking horse, some glad his name was able to be changed from Canner to Don...and did not end up becoming dog food.

Found the following quite by accident, thought you might be in need of it sometime, if you haven't made this already, that is...

Medicine Ball

1 package of instant oatmeal, 1 handful of oats, 1/2 cup molasses, 4 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter, (NOT the crunchy)Any medicine he/she doesn't like to take.

Mix all together in small balls so it all sticks together. Sprinkle sugar over top for an extra treat..Feed to your horse that's ailing, and watch him/her gobble it up while taking his/her medicine... So keen on the treat, won't even notice the medicine in it!

Thanks for the feed back on the horse cookies...just shows I know very little about your horsey friends out there.

Horse cookies can be bought or made and I think there are as many recipes for those as there are for cookies for people though I think the horse cookies are more healthy. ;o}

These are truly amazing stories that you have shared with us Rose. It must make you feel quite pleased that you were able to save their lives...Now I just have to ask.. what are horse cookies, and are they something you buy or make at home?

Hi Rose...Sure don't envy you and the fencing project. That's a lot of hard work in the heat. But I'm sure the rescued horses appreciate what you've done for them. Now if we only lived in the west, and not out here on the east coast, you would have had some extra hands to make the job go faster. Marilyn
